 What are Carbohydrates? 

Those giant organic compound which are necessary for the metabolism reactions performing in our inside living body are called carbohydrates.

 Old Definition of carbohydrates  

  1. Those oraganic compounds which are hydrates of carban known as carbohydrates.
  2. In this favour of this definition scientist provide a general formula Thai is (Cnh2OnOn).  
  3. But some organic compounds which are carbohydrates are not fitted in this formula. 
  4. The organic compound which are not Carbohydrates are fitted in this formula.
  5. In favour of this old definition of carbohydrate rejected.

New Definition of Carbohydrates

The new definition of carbohydrate is carbohydrate are those substance which are poly hydroxy aldehyde or polyhydroxy ketone substance. 

Those oraganic compounds compounds which after hydrolysis provide polyhydroxy aldehyde or polyhydroxy ketone as a product.
